 History

The Clover Jaycee chapter was affiliated on July 4, 1961.  There were 56 charter members.

During our 45-year history we have always freely given our time and support to the town and surrounding communities.  In return, the town and communities have always supported our projects.  We put the needs of our community first and our projects are targeted towards those needs.

Our longest running active project is our Flag Service.  This project has been in existence for over twenty years and has won national awards for our chapter.  We put flags out on days that are recognized as National Flag Flying days (currently this is 8 days a year).

Our Chapter Today

We have a current member enrollment of approximately 50.  We are in the Top 5 out of 25 chapters in the Parade of Chapters every year.  We are extremely dedicated to our number one state project, “Camp Hope”.  We encourage different members to chair our major projects every year and we welcome new project thoughts and ideas.

The largest money raising projects for our chapter include our Auto Show and Fall Festival and our Haunted Trail. Both of these projects continue to grow year after year and many months of planning go into each one.  The Auto Show attracts participants from all over the East Coast and has over 250 cars competing in 35 different classes.  The Haunted Trail in another one of our long running projects and involves a large percentage of our members in one way or another.  The trail attracts Halloween lovers from Clover, York, Rock Hill, Fort Mill, Gastonia, and Charlotte.  Citizens look forward to this event year after year.

A large majority of the money we raise for all of our projects during the year go towards “Camp Hope” and our “Toys for Tots and Dinners for the Elderly” projects.  Our toys and dinners project has provided gifts for as many as 700 underprivileged children and dinners for over 100 elderly adults.

The Clover chapter meets on the 2nd and 4th Thursday of each month at 7:30 p.m. at the Jaycee Hall located on South Main Street in Clover. The cost of a membership is $50.00 per year.  If you are interested in joining the Jaycees or would like to attend a meeting, please contact:
